Presidents' Forum April 25, 2022
LBTS Presidents’ Forum
The inaugural LBTS Presidents’ Forum and Dinner was held on April 25, 2022, at the Litchfield by the Sea Beach House. The event was co-sponsored by Acentria Insurance and Waccamaw Management.
The purpose of the meeting was: "To foster stronger and more supportive relationships between LBTS and its member communities.”
Attendees included the LBTS board members and the President or a board member from 27 of the 31 LBTS communities. It was an excellent opportunity for these leaders to get to know each other, to network, and to share issues and solutions to common problems.
Another theme was that - as boards turn over - knowledge about how LBTS works is lost. The LBTS board agreed to hold workshops beginning in September to address this challenge.
HOA Presidents - as leaders in their community - were asked to help get out the vote for the measure to allow River Club to have a bulk internet-cable contract. The LBTS Board hopes that this approach of HOA Presidents’ encouraging their members to vote - along with the newly streamlined voting process - will serve as a model for future voting and make missing a quorum a thing of the past.
It was agreed to hold another in-person meeting in the fall and a possible virtual meeting later this summer. For those meetings, the LBTS board will request agenda suggestions from the community leaders. There will also be more time for open discussion and networking.
Attendees said the Forum was a good start in establishing a closer working relationship among all the LBTS communities and in achieving common goals.
